Intercooler pump replacement

Intercooler pump replacement
I am about to replace my intercooler pump (and while I am at it, also the reservoir) on my 05 S281SC. Has anyone else performed this replacement yet? Any tips?
My main concern is gaining access to it. My second concern is that I don't know why the fluid ran out in the first place. Now that the pump wont flow, I can't tell if it leaked through the pump. It had the usual bleeding out of the cap, but I can't imagine that would create enough fluid loss to fry the pump. Thoughts/Advice?

The pump is pretty easy to get to. It is located on the pass. side, next to the heat exchanger, mounted by the frame rail.
Is the pump not coming on?? It does have a timer/fuse. Takes about 20 seconds to turn on after the key is in run.
It can be leaking from the heat exchanger, hoses or fittings that screw into the intercooler.
If the pump does need changing, I can sell you a GT500 one at a good price.

Hey Casey,
What's the difference between the pump on the Saleen and the one on the GT500?
My concern is always in the hook-up. Is it a plug and play style affair, or will we have to splice on a different kind of connector?
When I key on my car, the pump starts chugging after the 20 seconds or so it takes to turn on.
I'm seeing temps of about 115 on the highway, but I'm not sure if that's normal, high, or low.
Thanks,
Alan

Just getting back... Thanks for the feedback.
Casey, the pump is coming on as expected after 20 seconds, but it makes a high pitch whining noise and there is no flow of fluid. Now that the pump is dead, I can't figure out where the leak occured. I'll seek that out as soon as I replace the pump. I have a quote from Saleen on a replacement, but if you think the GT500 is a better option... I'll call you Monday.
Thanks!!

I was driving the car yesterday around town and the AIT's are seeing 150ish on the gauge.
On the highway it gets down to roughly 115.
I think it's just about time to start looking to improve the intercooler system.
