rear quarter window motor...
Hey All,
Can you tell me your experiences in changing a rear quarter window motor? In this case a 99' model on the drivers side.
It was working 18 months ago (though showing signs of dying - moving very slow, etc), just noticed now when playing with the windows it doesn't work at all :-p
Thanks in advance!,
Bob

its really not that bad from what i can remember. take out the rear seat, then you can take out the side panel with the speaker covers etc. then you take out the actual speakers and you can get to the window motor and it has 3 bolts that hold it in. the total process should only take about an hour or so.

I have mine out right now. 94 vert.
The replacement listed at the Danger Zone is the wrong part. It has a plastic body surrounding the gear, and its gear is too shallow. When it is bolted up, you can hear the motor spinning, but it doesnt engage the gear. I am waiting on them to order the one specified for the front door. Trying that one tonight.
Your Mileage may vary, but dont forget to match up the depth of the gear, in addition to the bolt pattern, etc.
I had fun getting the seat bottom out. I could see the buttons to push(small white buttons on white tabs under the center of each seat cushion), but pushing them didnt help at first. I had to push down on the seat while pushing the button, and immediately yank back up.
Buy new plastic push pin thingys. They never hold everything as tight as the first time used.

its easy as stated above remove the back seat, the plastic coves then the speaker mounting plastic and you can see the motor. the urethane ***** wore out in mine, i replaced those and saved the money of buying a new one

Would like to know if the passenger side has a Window Regulator, I see a drivers side listed under Motorcraft WLR56, but non for the rear passenger side only a replacement motor listed.
and yes is it as easy as it sounds to replace?
