You can only lower the pinion angle so much. Most driveline websites recommend no more than 3 degrees operating angle of the ujoints. My drive shaft is 1 degree down front to back. My pinion is 1.5 degrees down back to front. The operating angle of the rear ujoint on my car is 2.5 degrees. I have the Denny's 3.5 inch shaft and have never had it rub, even with my pinion angle at 1.5 degrees up. Lowering the pinion does lower the drive shaft and thereby lowering the angle of the drive shaft. So your operating angles start to get over 3 degrees really fast.
