No not what I'm looking for. When you turn the brights on the fogs go off. I want to stop that not just have the fogs on by themselves.

Did I hear a bell ring?

Leaving aside that there's no practical reason to have fog lamps and brights on at the same time--there is a relay conveniently placed in the battery junction box (relay #1), named the Fog lamp cutoff relay (makes sense) that does the dirty deed...

This relay is energised when the brights are on or flashed, and when energised it cuts the fog lamp relay's ground circuit, via its pins 3 and 4--so all one has to do is remove that relay and jumper pins 3 and 4 to keep the fog lamps on during bright operation.

Here's what the relay socket looks like:

Pin 3 uses 1/4" spade connector, pin 4 a 3/16" spade. As all that is being switched is the fog lamp relay's coil you can use 18 ga. wire with no problems.

Thanks guys.

The reason I am doing this cliffy is when I drive I watch the road just infront of the car for dabree and crap since my damn tires cost so much and I have alot of additional lines running under the car that I don't want hit.

By "regular driving lights" do you mean "low beams"?

If so, there is no logical reason for doing so, and one big physiological reason for not doing so (they do have engineers design these things)...

Having both the low and high beams on ("dipped" and "brights" for my mother's clan) will create a bright spot in the foreground that will cause you pupils to close and render the long distance effectiveness of the high beams virtually useless--and unsafe to boot.

This is a different request from the fellow who wanted to leave his OEM 27.5W "toy/cosmetic*" fog lights on, it is possible but I won't tell you how...

--------------------------
* - In Europe the Philips catalog described the #899 27.5W lamp as a toy/cosmetic fog/driving lamp--I love it, that's exactly what it is...
