Does a 2000 GT with a T45 tranny have an 8 bolt or 6 bolt flywheel? How can I find out?

My '01 VIN coded an 8 bolt (Winsor) and was a 6 once I got in there. This would seem to be consistant with your post, but originally replaced it on a Sunday, so had to re-install the original flywheel with new clutch. It was in good shape and have since replaced it with a billet flywheel when I did my T-56 swap.

your 8 vin #
x windsor 8 bolt 13 bolts on the valve cover
w romeo 6 bolt 11 bolts on the valve cover
you should have a windsor since it wasnt until mid 01 when they switched to the romeo.

Default Check this from American Muscle!

You may want to check out this American Muscle Website. When the website opens up, scroll down and click on Mustang Flywheels, then scroll down again to review your application. From what's posted, it appears that you have an 8 bolt hole pattern. However, you will never know what you will find until you remove the trans. Hope this helps. Good luck, Tommy.

So if the eighth number of the VIN is an "X" my motor is a Windsor?
