I remember that when I installed mine, it was a pain!

Did you torque the manifold bolts to specs when you were done?
I didn't since I didn't have a torque wrench.
Two years later, I have no problems. *knocks on wood*. I just followed the pattern.

I did feel an increase in the pull after 3k rpm, nothing major though.
