Sounds like it just needed different IFR's and/or idle air bleeds.

Carbs work great once they're set up right. The trick is getting them set up right.

I do like the new EZ-EFI though, some of the advantages of a carb, being a TBI type setup, but so much easier to set up and get it to run the way you want.
