Well, something else to keep in mind, is if it's a high rpm engine, TKO's don't shift well past 6,500rpm without modification. They use a bronze blocker ring & synchro assembly like the old Toploaders, and as a result are very hard and notchy to shift over 6,500, and sometimes will fail to engage. It's also very hard on the blocker rings. You need to find out exactly what the deal with the engine is going to be, so you know what you need as far as a trans. If it's going to have a shift point past 6,500rpm you may want to consider going with a T56(carbon clutch cones, shifts much better), the extra overdrive will also let you run more diff gear to help out if the engine favors higher rpm better. Or a modified TKO from some place like Promotion Powertrain in Florida.
