HELP CHOOSE BETWEEN MY DIY RAI/CAI &
I have a '99GT convertible and in the past have used the JLT CAI system and thought it was an impressive system making the power it claimed. Now I am about to install a 2V Teksid build with 11:1 compression, SVO intake aka Bullet's father(happy fathers day!), Nick McKinney heads(210/175CFM flow) , Comp 230*/234* on a 110*LSA and 106* centerline. Edelbrock Victor headers.
Now the troublesome part. I curently have moved my fog lights inboard and have a scoop fashioned from a home heating vent sitting where the passenger fog once did. There is 4" diameter aluminum piping leading oncoming air into the stock air can with an S&B filter dropped in as I found the S&B to be better quality than the venerable K&N. So far so good as this allows me to use the SVO strut tower bar as handling is important and being a vert making it tighter is good. However I have to use the stock inlet tube and it is somewhat restrictive whereas I could use a JLT Bullet system and forego the strut tower bar and have the JLT CAI.
Has anyone with a Bullet used the JLT system and found gains that were well worth the investment, anything measured? I have the dual 57mm oval TB. Thanks, Mark
