2.4 60' is ****ing terrible for stock tires. I need to learn how to launch the car and in 20 passes have gotten practically noowhere with it. Others have done much better and I'm pissed that I seem to suck ass at this so badly. Why should I buy DRs when others don't need them? Either I get better at this and if not then give up entirely. Or ditch this car for an auto.

I appreciate you answering my other question too, so much that I'll ask it again. Have you ever raced in either of those two cars?
Would you rather shoot for a 2.0 sixty foot time on street tires, or shoot for a 1.8x on DR's AND run a faster ET? If you just want bragging rights for a 2.0 or a 1.9x on street tires, then congratulations on having pride while running slower, I guess. You might be better off getting an automatic car, those are probably much easier to get a good street tire time. That way, you can post your personal bests AFTER a DA calculation and still argue about the S197 GT being a better value than a Terminator.
Quick question, when you see/read about people running 1.6-1.8's on DRs, do you think to yourself "YEAH WELL I'D LIKE TO SEE WHAT THEY DO ON STREET TIRES"?
