I talked to my wife about putting in a manual.She says it would be ok. I got to much to do right now,will make a desion on it in a couple of weeks.So if any one knows of a donor car witha t5 in it let me know.

well, keep your eyes open. they are pretty easy to find. keep looking for turbo coupes, some have a hydraulic clutch but it can be made to work for a mustang. also mustangs, obviously, and murker xr4ti's. you can find them really cheap if its rusted out or the interior is crap. just keep your eyes open and check out craigs list. here in grand rapids, MI you can usually find a few of them for $1000 or less. I've seen them for as little as $250!

so the mustang has a cable for the clutch ?Also what year should I be looking for, I assume 87-93. Will 79-86 work as long as it is a 2.3 ?

Today I stopped at a bone yard and found an 89 with a t5 and 4cyl They will take out the trans , and I will take out the pedals for $250.Does any one have a list of other parts that I will need to make the swap.I want to make sure I get every thing I need in one trip !

grab the pedals, clutch cable, flywheel+ bolts because they are longer than flex plate bolts, starter index plate and the crossmember and the starter(idk if its like a v8 car and will work on a t5)

65 , you mentioned starter.I checked and the 89 takes a different starter that my 93.On mine the seloiniod is mounted on the starter.Does any one know if the bolt pattern is the same? Or do I have to change the starter and the wiring too ?

Back from vacation!! Ill rest up a few days then get to work pulling the trans.I am going to check a few more junk yarks this week , tofind the parts I need.

one more thing I was thinking. Will I have to change the ecm?It is set up for the auto now. If I use the same one will it throw codes because its no longer connected to a transmission ?

It should be fine, using a auto computer on a manual swap and no codes other than the solenoid and the CCL switch

started working on pulling out the old tonight, then cleaned up to watch the allstar game.Should be just an hr or 2 more and it will be on the floor.
