Hey guys,

We know the Mustang is beloved here in the states; apparently our neighbors across the Atlantic like our pony cars as well. Would you say it's the same reasoning behind people's love of European imports? If you are a member from Europe, can you offer some perspective?

Interesting, I always thought the Europeans didnt take to American cars all that well.

 

Just today I had the cops following me to the airport where I was dropping some people off. He kept passing me then getting behind me, I had no clue what was going on. Once I parked at the airport he blocked me in so I couldn't move. I thought I had done something wrong and was getting in trouble. He came to my window and asked me how much I wanted for it with a smile. I asked if he really wanted to buy it and he shook his head. He asked what year it was then took a walk around the car. He came back by the window and said "Bene" which means "good" in Italian. There isn't a lot of throaty V8 muscle cars here so I turn a lot of heads. Hopefully before I leave I can sell it for a profit and get the 2011 with the 5.0 in it

It's a small Elite, but they represent the Mustang very well.
Ironically, on the race track (road course) in Europe, the Mustang kicks butt more than here...

Ya I always thought they weren't all that popular in Europe.....they're popular in Canada, we're international, lol

 

Yeah another popular one over there is the Dodge Viper. Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear (British car show) said this about the Mustang:

"Ford Mustang - Greatest car ever? Well, it's changed the world, mobilized a generation, redirected the way we thought about cars, and sounded like God, shouting. So I should say so, yeah."

If any of you are familiar with Top Gear, in a more recent episode while reviewing the new ZR1, CTS-V, and Challenger SRT8 in the U.S., they made many references to the red light drag racing and loud V8 rumbles of the American car culture that is rare in Europe. Interesting stuff!

 

Corvettes and the Ford GT are also popular across the pond...
Nobody can afford these though.
A European driving a Mustang is already a rich dude, lol.
$7 a gallon of gas, taxes up the yang yang and Insurance costs, forget it.

A 2010 GT sells for about 40K Euro (around $60K)!!!

But it sure is nice to have an American car there, in the middle of all these Diesel sh#t boxes.
Diesel cars represent about 82% of the European market, and they're lecturing us about the pollution created by our V8s!

 

infact i believe diesel burns cleaner than gasoline. some of the VW TDI's ive heard of getting 1,000 miles out of 1 tank of fuel.

 

Mileage is better yes, burning cleaner I doubt it.
Unless you run it with Mc Donald's cooking oil or something...
