ehhh really no... claybar and detailing spray *your lube* will not in anyway strip the wax... there is nothing in clay that will remove wax... it does exactly what you have said.. it removes contaminates on the paint... meaning on your highest surface... alot of claybar kits even tell you on the package to "strip the wax on the surface before you start to clay bar for best results"
