i have replaced my heater core 4 times, now, you have to literally take the whole dash out and then get to the heater core (your only left with like a foot maybe a little more). I even went to a few shops to see how much it would cost and they said the wouldn't touch it for any price. one finally did it for i think i payed like $900 for the job (8 hours of labor, and i needed it done because i was going away for a few months)

and on a side note, since your going to replace it anyways make sure you ground it so you don't get electrolysis going on with it, which was my problem, but didn't figure it out till the 3rd time.
