Ford doesn't build their models to win races, they build them to sell cars. When they do want to build a car to win the race that is when you see your Terminators or Cobra R's or GT500's. Pretty much the entire history of the Mustang has been a base model, GT model, and a performance model for the horsepower junkies. Affordable muscle, that's what Ford is all about.

This really doesn't make much sense. As noted, the 4.6 is ending production, so where is the motor for the 2011 GT going to come from if you're claiming it *won't* be the 5.0?
And why are you so certain the price will go up if the GT does in fact get the 5.0?

Then again, I've heard a lot of people who own an automatic 2010 Camaro SS complain that the L99/LS3 has been effectively neutered to get those numbers.

The L99, possibly. The differentiation between the motors is the L99 has cylinder deactivation whereas the LS3 doesn't.

Not at all sir. I'm simply doubtful of all the rumors and I'd like to get hard evidence before I can accept them as true. I love my car. If I wanted 400 Hp then I'd supercharge it. Which I will eventually once I get bored of the 315.

Well, if you ignore the rumors and look at the facts, i.e. the 4.6 is leaving production, and Ford's intent to put the 5.0 in Mustang with the pictures to prove it. I don't think you can come to any other conclusion other than the GT will be getting the 5.0.
