That crate motor probably doesn't have any accesories attached to it, which will cause it to make more power.

The Chally SRT8 only has 53hp and 20lbs-ft of torque more. And there is an $8k-12k difference in their price. I think Mishri is just trying to say that performance per dollar is cheaper with the R/T. If you put that $8k-12k in an R/T to match the price, that SRT8 wouldn't stand a chance. Now if you disregard price and just look at the motors... then the SRT8 would be a better choice. It has more displacement to begin with and more power. But the thing is, we have to consider price, and that's why even motor trend chose the R/T over the SRT8. Because of price vs performance. That's why the Mustang GT has always been an attractive choice, cuz they're dirt cheap, and faster than anything else at the same price. And there is a rather large after market for them :-)
