I bought an 89 Coupe that was converted to carb. Has an Accel 71201E dizzy which is mechanical and vacuum advance. A vac line was never hooked up to the vac advance when I got it. I have since swaped the motor that was in it for a fresh rebuilt motor. I now have to drop the dizzy in and time it.

My question is how do I set the base timing with my dizzy? Should I put a vac hose on the vac advance line? I also have an MSD 6AL box. How would I go about hooking it up? Any pros or cons to running the box with my current set up? i heard something about only being able to set base timing using the box? Thanks for any input.
