Default GT vs LX

it seems the GTs are more desirable than the LXs but why? i've owned two GTs in the past and have never even given an LX a thought and i don't even know why. i had a guy tell me a long time ago that a stock lx is faster than a stock gt. if this were true you'd think the lx's would be more sought after than the gt's. what are the differences between the gt and lx models?

dont the gt's weight a little more than the lx's cause of all teh extra ground effects i think thats why they say teh lx is a little faster cause of weight diffrence

Generally, people either love or hate the '87-'93 GT because of its body kit. I tend to agree with the later. I also don't like how you can't see the exhaust tips. The LX's hatch/convertible weight slightly less then their GT counter parts because it lacks the body kit/fogs/standard options. The LX notchs weight the least.

The most sought after fox is not a GT. It's the '87-'93 notch, which is only available as an LX. I prefer a 4 eye notch.

its all a matter of personal opinion .. yes the lx is slightly lighter and faster .. but its not enough to sway me in the direction of buying a car that i felt did not look as good ..
and btw you couldnt pay me to drive a notch .. notches r for girls : o)

The only difference is in fact, as posted, the effects of the body kit. It is less aerodynamic and weighs more. The fog lights are part of the body kit and so are the hidden exhaust tips.

The interior styling is not dependent on which model it is, rather how the car was ordered. My LX has full leather and power everything. I'd never drive a horrendous looking GT.

I don't like the look of a gt with big slicks under it

I'm a hatch guy and always will be. I have always loved the cobra body kit with the stalker bumper. That is the only body kit I will put on a fox. Other than that it is LX all the way, or when talking about my 83 its a GLX lol.
