Default 4.6l engine how to lift it out?

I am trying to pull my 4.6l motor and tranny and I have a hoist but where do you hook it up to on the motor? I have lifted them from carb plates before but I don't think that will work on this motor because I have to tilt it to get it out. I have a leveler with the 4 chains but don't know where to hook it up. Any ideas? Thanks

I've always pulled the intake and put two bolts on in the head where the intake bolts down. I've bent a few bolts but never messed up a head. Front and rear opposites of each other and make sure you're not using the "Ledge" hole that hangs over the valley.

On my cobra we took the intake off. We didn't bend any bolts. The guy above said it right.

Think its an intake pull route. I looked for spots to tilt it when doing my headers (and hold it replacing a clutch) with no luck. I had to put a chain through the coil pack mounts and tilt it and the clutch was a stand underneath the pan. good luck, and if you find any spots please let me know

You may want to unhook everything and disconnect the engine from the tranny and raise the car up and take the engine out from the bottom.

I have some bolt on hooks that I use. I hooked up to one of the front cover 18MM bolts and on the back of the passenger head. I used to lift by the intake bolts, but I dropped a 3.0L ford Taurus motor when a bolt snappec, so I have since stopped that practice.
