After reading......think I'm dumping the Mac's and going with Corsa Xtreme Axleback, the drone on the MACS are killing me at 60 MPH and it gets old if you get stuck at that speed and hate to run in 4th for miles at 60 as well, I think I may even get those before my Alum. drive shaft..
On the highway - no drone whatso ever. At times I wondered if I was in a Prius.
Exactly why I took my Corsas off. I wanted to hear it while cruising like a muscle car should. Now, loud intense drone does suck but dead quiet is not good either.
Now if I can only get someone to buy my corsas....
Congrats on the new Corsas. My dad and I both have them and we love them. I have the Sports and he has the Extremes... couldn't ask for a better muffler in my opinion.
Cool i may switch my pypes mid muffler out for corsas... id like it a little quieter and im tired of the drone
A word of caution... They won't be quieter but they definitely won't drone. Corsa mufflers are a straight through design that uses tuned baffles to generate sound canceling waves to quiet the exhaust. They are tuned to the stock exhaust configuration and are amazing.
However, when you significantly change the exhaust, by adding headers for instance, they are no longer tuned for the system and therefore do not generate the correct canceling waves. They are really loud!
Last year I added a set of American Racing Headers with a catted H-pipe. Holy S*** it was loud, at least for a 45+ year old (my 16 year old loved them). I'll bet I was pushing 120 dB at WOT. They were way too raspy for my taste as well. I ended up putting some Magnaflow straight through mufflers in line with the Corsas and that toned down the volume and killed the raspiness. I'm really happy with the combination.
