Exclamation E-Brake Light Stays on

My e brake light recently started staying on after I release the brake. It goes off sometimes for a few seconds but will come back on. Do I need a new e brake switch or a new brake line??

check the level of the mster cylinder......if fluid level is low, you may have a leak or your brakes are getting low

Ill check.. Is that the only reason the light would stay on or could there be something else to check?

That should be the only reason.
The light is only suppose to come on to let you know your brake fluid level is low.

you could also have a bad e-brake switch or a short to ground

Check to see if the switch has come loose. Mine did that and the light stayed on constantly.

Umm fluid level has nothing to do with the parking brake light? There's a pressure switch behind the parking brake handle. If it's not pressed in when the parking brake is disengaged you will have the light, unless you have an electrical problem.

the brake light on the dash comes on for both reasons, the level sensor in the master and the switch at the brake handle.

Ummmm, you have no clue what you're talking about!!! Dude you better go back to automotive school. The brake light on the dash is one in the same as Matt has just pointed out to you. Please don't give out info if you don't know what you're talking about. It's of no help at all to ppl needing it.
