My friend just got a new V6 and wanted to use my tuner on his car and i was wondering, is there way or does the Tuner have to be unlocked? if so how do you do it so it can be used on other cars?

You need to return your car tuning to stock, before the tuner can be used on another car.

Is it a Xcal3 or Xcal2? If it is a Xcal3, you cannot unlock and use it on a different car, because those are vin locked.

Return it to STC for unlocking and pay the price of
buying a locked to a specific VIN tuner...

I was just playing around with it and returned it to stock and it said in the programming, "unlocked tunes:5 available"

The Xcal will allow you to tune up to 5 or 6 cars. Unfortunately, you MUST return whichever car is currently running a custom tune from the tuner to stock before loading a stored tune for one of the other cars. Kinda sucks for us but works well for SCT.

Beware, some have unlimited times a tune can be moved....
Yea, SCT wants to sell tuners, not have everyone
on the block load tunes from just ONE TUNER.
They want to sell a TUNER to everyone on
the block.
Sharing tunes is highly frowned upon by tune creators....

Pleeeeease peel the dealer sticker from the trunk lid.

LOL! I hadn't noticed that! Good eyes, 157db.

A hair dryer will soften the dealer sticker and it'll pull right off. A little solvent will remove leftover adhesive. Or, ask the dealer to remove it. They will.
