What do you guy think of the Nexen N-3000 Tires???? I've went through a couple of sets on my Benz and BMW.

Maybe you should tell us how they are since you've had a couple sets?? Which of your cars is heavier the benz or bmw?

To tell the truth. If I can find a tire that gives good traction and is predictable at the limit so I know when I get there (not that I think I can drive my car to the limit) I hppefully can feel it starting to go away and correct it, and only have to buy tires every 2 years would be golden. I do not want to drop 1k plus every year for tires.

another reason I got Kumhos, they come in 255/50/17 which is almost exactly the same diameter tire and still decent amount wider, and it looks better on the car as compared to the low profile sizes , if you don't lower the car and put on a low profile tire it looks like crap and that rear gap looks much worse!!! IMHO

 

Well I ended up going with:
Hankook Ventus V12 evo - P255/45/ZR18 on the GT500 wheel (M-1007-S1895B)
So far I like them, they seem way better than the stock tires (big surprise there).

How did the Hankook Ventus hold up? I'm looking to replace all 4 tires on my '06 GT. I do not race but like to think I zoom around alot (for a 59 yr old). I live in upstate NY snow country and while the car is in the garage 95% of the winter I may have to take it out once in a while. Perilli's were recommended, too. All season tires are a strong possibiltiy. I'm looking for suggestions. thanks

 

I like my Pirelli PZero Nero M&S. I havent had them long but they done well in the snow and dry roads. They were highly recomended! You might want to check those out!

I ended up getting a great buy on 2 Sumitomo HTRZ II's on e-bay. I'll put them on the front but know wonder if I can mix it up with different tires (same size) on the rear. I've read different threads about this. What are the major drawbacks?

 

The breakaway characteristics of the two different tires may differ by enough to change what happens as you get closer to that point. Basically, you'd rather have the front tires begin to lose grip before the rears do (assuming that you aren't being silly with the throttle while cornering).
