Hey,

Where are the adjustments for aiming the headlights? I took a quick look last night and didn't see anything readily visible. I'm pretty sure my lights are adjusted too low from the factory.

There are screws at the tops of the headlights. Turn on ur headlights and park it in front of a wall or garage door and mess with turning each way to get it to go the right direction. You will have to take the plastic cover off the front of the engine bay. You just have to pop the clips out. Hope that helps.

Mine were way too low as well... Very unsafe at night... You don't have to take off any plastic covers, just pop the hood... Just a screw on the back of the headlight assembly... philips head, cant miss it... Its pointing toward the sky, tightening raises the lights, loosening lowers them... I raised mine about 2 or 3 inches above fog light line... The way they are supposed to be is the top edge of the high intensity zone is supposed to be aimed at the headlight center point at 25 feet from a perfectly level wall, with more than 1/2 tank of gas...

In other words, measure how high to the circle in the center of your light, and go to the wall, and put some masking take horizontally the same height as the headlights center from the ground... now back up 25 feet from the wall, and the top of your low beams brighest point should be even with the tape... this helped me see alot at night... and so far , no one has flashed me.. They definitely were too low from the factory..

Thanks guys. Yeah, shoulda looked a little closer. I just adjusted them quite a bit--muuuuch better. Still feel like I want to drive with the fogs on though. Went for a little drive after dark and no one flashed me. Might adjust a little more.

The jist would be 2" below center at 25ft for low beams, and 4" down for fogs mounted above the bumper.

Headlamp vertical aim adjustment
1. Park the vehicle directly in front of a wall or screen on a level surface,
approximately 25 feet (7.6 meters) away.
• (1) 8 feet (2.4 meters)
• (2) Center height of lamp to
ground
• (3) 25 feet (7.6 meters)
• (4) Horizontal reference line
2. Measure the height from the
center of your headlamp to the
ground and mark an 8 foot
(2.4 meter) horizontal reference line
on the vertical wall or screen at this
height (a piece of masking tape works well). The center of the lamp is
marked by a 3.0 mm circle on the headlamp lens.
3. Turn on the low beam headlamps to illuminate the wall or screen and
open the hood.
4. On the wall or screen you will
observe a flat zone of high intensity
light located at the top of the beam
pattern.
5. If the top edge of the high
intensity light zone is not at the
horizontal reference line, the
headlamp will need to be adjusted.
6. Locate the vertical adjuster on
each headlamp, then use a 7 mm
Allen wrench or a Phillips
screwdriver to adjust the headlamp
up or down.
7. HORIZONTAL AIM IS NOT
REQUIRED FOR THIS VEHICLE
AND IS NON-ADJUSTABLE.
8. Close the hood and turn off the
lamps.

Phillips Head screwdriver works well, no need to remove parts

I just found the fog lamps have the same sort of adjusters, and thats where removing the radiator cover comes into play, for adjusting the foglamps.

It is and believe it or not all the S197 sections are TECH related and these I treat as sub categories (appearance,handling, etc) so I felt it best went here......and yes the search function works esp if your using the right key words....most just dont want to try....
