Default Ran over diesel tire going 70mph!!

i was on the freeway and a suv 3 car lenghs in front of me hits a blown out tire. It pops up in front of me forming a fence as wide as my car standing over 1ft tall. There was nothing to do but go over it. The front bumber is scuffed all over the bottom portion, the fog lights are demolished and the metal bumper cover bracket got bent on the tabs where it attaches.
Also, i got two pin holes in my radiator

So, i patched the radiator and i pulled the bracket off w/ foglights. I don't want to put the bracket back on, Is there anything negative w/o it, besides getting more damage in a collision? It sucks, i had full coverage for 2 years up until 5 months ago i got minimum coverage, so insurance won't cover shiat.

you could possibly sue the highway department. i totaled my 97 wrangler due to the same thing, except i managed to swirve around it, then fishtailed into the side of a rig. had an open lawsuit against the highway dept. for failure to clean up the roadway, would have won it too if i didn't sell the jeep for parts.

I couldn't believe that the cars ahead didn't see it sooner. I was pissed at first, but i figure i need a repaint and i can get that bracket easily it i wanted it. Im thinking of ditchin these heavy GT moldings and doing a LX or Cobra conversion.

you think thats bad?

I was towing my car to the track a few weeks back, driver in front of me swerves.. tire treads in the middle of the road. I tried to just get my truck to straddle it, send it down the middle.. (there was no way I was going to avoid it, not with ~4000lbs in tow)

the left rear tire on my stang catches one of the pieces, FLINGS it out to the side, and up in the air..

and the chunk NAILS a honda accord that was in the high speed lane.

I laughed my ***** off!

Hahaha that's ****.

I don't think a bit of rubber will bend your exhaust.

IDK if the cobra body kit is lighter than the Gt.

LX ftw.

Heres a pic of it. Luckily in didn't bend the core support. It barely bent the ac condenser brackets. Do you guys think its alright to leave the bumper cover support bracket off? That thing weighs atleast 20 lbs!

"The bumper cover support bracket"

Do you mean THE BUMPER? The bumper cover is the actual "GT" or "LX" body part that covers up the bumper. The bumper is the big fiberglass bar that goes across the front.

If that is what you mean. The only danger of not using it is less impact absorption from a frontal crash.
