right of way is right of way. If you cant judge the speed of a car, you dont deserve a licence. ofcourse soccer mom probably was dealing with the kids screaming in the back and not watching the road

Marcus, how can you say perfect outcome to this? You think the guy deserved to die for stealing a vehicle? I don't think so.

The van should be cited for not yielding no matter how fast the guy was going and deserves whatever other charge (vehicle manslaughter or whatever).

It sort of looks like the van purposefully hit the truck.. should be charged with somethin. at least a ticket.

I think he was getting more at the point that if the driver was willing to endanger innocent people by taking police on a high speed chase then it's probably no lose for them to have died before killing someone else.

I'm not going to lie, it was VERY difficult for me to judge the speed of that truck from above until it went flying off the van, struck that pole and just obliterated it.

Same here, I couldn't tell until it went flying.

Truck probably didn't look like it was going that fast.

.
yep, that's exactly what I meant.
If you've ever seen a car chase through streets from the road side perspective (I have) you'd realise how utterly bereft of any human feeling of responsibility these turds really are.
Perhaps I was a little glib about this ultimate outcome, but let's say that guys like this should be looking at blank walls for a much longer time than they currently do, and that's even if they're sent to jail.

She broke the law, period. Sure the car jacker got what they deserved, but the van driver failed to yield.

Yeah, looking at it again, she should be ticketed for failure to yield because i would bet the sign hanging above the turn lane says "Yield on Green" So, if they wanted to, they could give her a ticket. I personally wouldn't if I was on scene because then that would allow the family of the thief to sue her for wrongful death or some bull**** like that versus her just being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
