Hello! Excited to be part of the board and even more excited about finally owning my dream car!! I'm the proud new poppa of a 2007 Mustang GT/CS (Ill post pics later)

My question, I've been trolling through the board trying to find a good set up on exhaust and I cant find any. I looked through the exhaust clips but found none from my year that didnt have lots of other stuff done to it.

Please point me in the right direction on best parts/set up. Thanks for any help

Thanks for the welcome! I'm super excited!! When I was younger, I hung out with a guy that had a '99 GT that had a bassani x-pipe but unsure of what else he had. I loved the sound of it, it just sounded mean and not raspy if you know what I mean

 

x pipes are great. But then there are fans of H pipes. All a matter of preference really. Flowmasters with an x pipe set up and some new headers will definitely beef up the sound of your car.

 

that was actually the way I was thinking of going, but i was unsure of if i wanted to get headers or not yet.

 

if the install is anything liek that on the 96-04's be prepared to either spend alot of money getting them installed, or pretty much an entire day or 2 doing it yourself.

just look on youtube, theres 9 million exhaust videos for mustangs on there. just type in something like 2005 (2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 will work also) mustang exhaust, or 2007 mustang x pipe, or 2009 mustang h pipe, **** like that.

 

I'll give that a try as well! What is everyone's opionion on h-pipe vs x-pipe?

 

Both x-pipes and h-pipes help equalize the exhaust pulses between each side of the engine, and creates a scavenging effect. However, the x-pipe does flow a little better. So, while an h-pipe is good, an x-pipe is better. On one last note, I would like to point out that the factory h-pipe is a very nice piece.

Concerning exhaust clips, there are too many to list. Your GT/CS still has a 4.6L 3v, so any GT exhaust will sound similar. When it comes down to your exhaust- cost, noise level and power goal all need to be considered.

 

I have always liked the smooth exhaust note that the x-pipe has, i dont like the "backfire" effect that some h-pipes have. Im thinking Bassani x-pipe unless someone has a better option. Thanks for all the help so far

 

hi. im the new owner of a 2003 gt. im looking to give it a louder sound.. any suggestions on mufflers? ps im not too handy but im willing to learn so the easier the better but im willing to work for a real throaty sound
