Default Video of car I sold for Boss project

This is the Mach I had for 15 years until I decided to pull the trigger on the Boss project. I hope you enjoy the video.

Oh man...
That's just as impressive as the Boss project!!
I'd have a hard time selling that baby. Running lows 10's I'm surprised the tracks let you run that hing without a cage, unless I missed a cage in there.

Default Yes it was an original cobra jet car

It was an R code 428 car from California that I completely rebuilt from a basket case. It did not have a cage but the track didn't pay attention. It had a 428 stroked to 463 cu inches, a toploader 4 speed with a gear venders overdrive into a detroit locker with 4.11 gears.

Even modified it brought good money when I sold it. I just can't do the original thing. There's a place for original cars, it's just not in my garage.

I only asked because my dad is currently building an R-code, he's keeping a stock look but definitely not concours, too much work for too little benefit in our opinion. He's getting some special porting done on his cj heads that is supposed to give him 100-150 hp, a slightly more aggressive cam, but that's pretty much as far as he's going with the engine.

You did do some tasteful mods to the cj though, I noticed the scj oil cooler and improved seats, etc. Sometimes I just hate to see some valuable cars get modded tooo much, but if yours was a basketcase you simply saved it if anything.

Wow!! What made it come apart?
Is/was this same motor you have in the almost finished pics?

Default It's a long story but here it is.

The 1st engine was installed in the car when we found an issue on start up. This was not due to the engine builder but a seperate issue. We pulled the engine, fixed the issue but decided to dyno the engine to make sure everything was OK. Unfortunately the flywheel we were going to use was 90 miles away.

We had a stock flywheel so we decided to dyno with it. On the 7th run the flywheel came apart grenading the engine. We found another block and machining and assembly will be done this week. We'll then have two days to put back in the car to head to Bowling Green.

Wish me luck.
