i had a 92 maro with a 305 with shortys, full exhaust, 3.73s, shift kit and a ratchet shifter, it ticked off a whoping 16.1 @ somthing like 85 miles an hour (granted with 200k on the clock) my v6 mustang vert with just exhaust/intake ran i think a 15.7 at 89 mph. its going to be a long race
Most n/a V8's from the early 80's sucked pretty bad. They were trying to meet ever tighter emissions regulations, and didn't know how to do it other than cripple the engine to burn less fuel. Less fuel = less emissions, but also less power.
