Question Chip or Supercharger ?

I have a 1997 v6 mustang and im looking at doing a performance upgrade. I was wondering which i should do put a chip in it or supercharger it?
How much power can you get out of each of them?
Which is a better upgrade for the cost?

Supercharger is a far better upgrade than a chip. The chip/tuner adds about 20hp while the supercharger can add around 200hp.

You can either put on a M90 supercharger since your a singleport or you can do a splitport swap and put a M112 on. But if you do the S/C route you will need a chip/tuner + dyno tune.

I doubt a chip won't add 20wrhp. It might feel like it but probably more like 10. And I can't believe you even consider those two in the same ballpark. If it was chip vs underdrive pulley or supercharger vs turbo charger I could see that. But chip $400 (10wrhp) vs. supercharger $2,000+ (100+wrhp).

I don't know too much about the m90 swap but if its like the m112 swap it can be done for under $3,000 and almost positive it clears the stock hood so no need for a new one. Check out v6power.net in the power adder section if your serious about it and just ask for general info on the m90 swap.

Just based off of the question, you don't need a supercharger, not at least until you're 18

you need a chip/tune for the supercharger.

start off with exhaust, SCT, tune, and gears/lsd for the rear first
