Question 2003 Mustang GT 3v Swap

I have searched high and low and can't seem to find any topics that answer my question.

I have a 2003 Mustang GT and I'd like to swap my engine/tranny for an '05 or later engine/tranny.

Does the engine bay have enough room and is there enough room underneath to install the tranny?

If that will work, what about a 5.4L Lightning engine/tranny swap?

Thanks in advance.

yea its possible, but a 3v is going to be hard because you have that throttle by wire system or whatever.

I've seen it done. Why not just supercharge your current setup? It's easier, cheaper, and makes more power.

going to a 3v is going to require a donor car not just the engine/trans. you will have to swap over all the wire harnesses to make it work on the 03

Logan motor sports makes a kit to change the bold pattern of the headers to that of a 2v and an adapter for the throttle body from drive by wire to a cobra unit. All thats left is to adapt the current wiring harness so the engine and install a pair of 2v adjustable cam gears to take care of the vct, it shouldnt be too difficult, but there are easier things to do.

I've seen some vids as well as a for-sale thread of a new edge with a 3V swap on SVTP. It seems pretty cool but unless you are getting the motor for really really cheap I would think it would be easier/more worth it to just put in a Cobra 4V motor.

or wait for the "new 5.0" coyote motor from a wrecked GT in a couple years... thats my plan lol... of corse, for the time being im just gunna slap a on3performance turbo kit till someone wrecks... as horrible as that sounds....
