Cool 2001 mustang, 3.8 v6 alarm/theft light?

I just got a used 2001 mustang with the v6 3.8. It has the door unlock key flob that does not work. It also has the theft light on in the dash. Has the 6 CD changer system if that helps. How can I get the doors to work with the key flob and get rid of the theft light?
This is the first mustang we have owned.

The battery might just be dead in the fob. Otherwise buy an aftermarket one or get a replacement one from a dealership

Does it start or does it just crank over but never fires?

The theft light is supposed to flash every second or two when the car is shut off.

And there is a tutorial on here to get the key fob working.

Batteries in the flob are OK. It opens the trunk, and you can hear it do something in the doors and the lock **** in the doors jumps, but not enough to lock or unlock it?. You can push and pull the lock **** in and out just fine. Key unlocks and locks them just fine. Has any one been inside the door? It may just be unhooked, but both doors are doing the same thing? Kinda weird.

My son says the theft light comes on all the time? It starts just fine. Could it be a code that needs clearing in the computer?
