Default spark plug gap

i have a 1986 mustang gt and i need to know wat to gap the plugs at, does .050 sound right?

If I remember right, book calls for 0.054. You should be fine.

stock is .052

but i'd go smaller. an '86 is most likely gonna be a little weak in the spark dept after 24 years.... bigger gap is NOT gonna do anything for you at this point but give potential trouble

i'd gap them at .048" if i were you, and use stock coppers... nothing special or again your asking for trouble. especially with platinums

the Hayes Manuel calls for .045 so that's what i gaped them at. What does platinum's do, i was told that they were better.

because .54 is the max stock gap according to my chilton (.50-.54)
