How hard to replace front bumper??
Need to replace front bumber. Got an estimate from Ford for $980, my bodyshop $750...parts, paint, labor. Is this tough to do? Purchase bumper painted and install yourself??

No, absolutely not. What you need is: space, time, tools and patience. I swapped out my stock bumper for the Roush Front Fascia. using these instructions.

Any questions, just ask.

Thanks guys...that's what I needed to hear! I'm on it. Another stupid question. Paint before or after install? Looking to replace stock bumper with the Cal Special...

I say paint before the install. The install is very easy. You can bolt and unbolt yourself. But it's best to have a buddy help remove and then reinstall on the bumper. Just so it lines up right the first time. I removed mine to color match the center splitter of my CS bumper.

Yeah...I did check them out. Was a little hesitant because at the bottom they say they can't guarantee the paint match with the factory color.

I'd definitely give the newtakeoff consideration, especially if you are contemplating staying with the stock look. Of course they can't guarantee a perfect match as they are already painted....but I imagine it being the same.

As for NewTakeOffs, I just got my GT bumper a week ago for my GT/CS conversion.
The bumper itself has many fine scratches, swirl marks, and imperfections that could not be removed with the products I had (Meguiar scratch remover, swirl-x, clay bar). There were some spots covered with grime that left a stain even after I cleaned it. It appears as if they just threw the bumper into a warehouse and let it sit gathering all kinds of crap.
I personally would not purchase from them again.
