ok i am buyin a 302 bare block out of a Lincoln. it hasent been bored or anything. i wanna build it up with high performance street parts so i need some help. first i know i want like 10:1 compression and i want a e303 cam in it. i also want cobra upper and lower intakes and Edelbrock alum heads. now my big question is can you guys help me with the rest like the crank and the pistons and all that **** and like the specs for all the stuff im not sure on i goot learn lol, i want it to be carbed too. please any thing will be appreciated

Well, if you want it carbed, you can't have a cobra intake, as it is fuel injected. I would go with a 650 carburetor, your head choice isn't terrible you'd want a 58cc instead of 64cc for compression, and a different cam, as the ABC cams are outdated and not as efficient as maybe a lunati or comp. I don't know if or what year lincoln you are talking about has a roller cam or not but I'd stick with a stang 302. You can get one just as cheap and I'd go with stock internals to save $$$. Or, you could just get a complete shortblock with warranty. That's what I'd do....

lol yeah right haha...stay away from and efi to carb conversion if you don't even know you need a different intake lol. If you want to redo the internals check out www.competitionproducts.com they have good stuff to fairly cheap, just know what you're looking for. You can pick up a crank kit with 10/10 main and rod bearings from Oreilly's fairly cheap, less than $200. Pistons on that website by speed pro are like $180 and I think they include rings. Getting all the parts isn't too bad, but having the wrist pins installed and the having the assembly balanced ain't cheap. Really though man if you didn't know the difference in intakes I would stay away from building your own motor or at least have a well seasoned mechanic by your side watching you work. Gotta learn sometime. Good luck.

As stated your cam/intake/head setup is extremely mismatched and doesn't support one another. You need to do some more research and get one that matches better. Usually stay with one brand, so if you want Cobra upper/lower then get GT-40 x heads. One good note though, stay away from the alphabet cams. While they were good 20 years ago there are much better cams out now that are dual stage that will better support an intake/head setup.

Word of advice, whatever RPM range the intake is made to opperate at, get a cam that performs in the same range. If you get a dual stage cam, try to get a cam that has a comperable measure to the heads intake/exhaust valve size.

I don't know much about controlling compression with any particular rotating assembly so I'll let somebody else fill you in more on that.

lmao i have no idea why i put that intake carb combo on there, i knew you cant do tht....sorry. well what do you think would be the better way to go on a daily driver and street power, carbed or fuel injection?
