Default Possible good deal? please help

so someone local to me is selling an 05 mustang gt for 5000....awesome condition but engine problems. Has listed that there is broken rocker and bent valve on cylinder #1....is this fixable or better to just get entire new engine. regardless isnt 5000 an awesome deal?? I never have stangs in my area that are low in price. would this at least make good project for that price?

As long as there isn't a salvage title, and you know that it will at worst need a new engine, then I say go for it... That appears to be a great price. Is there any exterior or interior damage? What about electrical issues? For that price you better be prepared to deal with those sort of issues, especially with the water leak possibility.

A lot depends on what the rest of the car is like plus the miles that are on it. Also, it will cost $4000 + for an engine installed I would guess....... Check out the price of fixing it prior to buying it.

Used engines would be less....plus install

If you plan on keeping it vs selling it may also depend on the rebuild line you take. You could go big with the engine and get a 5.0 or anything too.

there is no salvage title, 109k miles, and no previous engine damage...definately would be something i would keep to have fun with. no more trading and selling cars. the guy has lots of pics of exterior and interior and it is in perfect condition. So clean, and it has brand new tires and brakes, 5 spd, but not premium package.

If you can swing it without putting yourself in a financial hurt locker, why not? grab it up and start wrenching. I assume you arent getting it to be your daily driver but moreso a project car, seems decent and you seem excited about it

ya, i traded my 05 gt for my 2012 focus (daily driver) for mpg reasons cause of new job and miss it so much. would love this and is affordable for me. I totally wanted a 11 or 12 stang in a couple years but this would be awesome. Just wanted input because im no mechanic and never dealt with a car with engine problems.

Do you have a decent mechanic to go to? meaning not a scam artist... it'll be good to get behind the wheel of a stang again for you
