Default 89 Motor in a 93 Body

Hey guys,
I bought an 89 5.0L the other day.....runs great but the body sucks. Found a 93 Mustang GT roller and bought it today. Very solid car, has a roll cage, headers, flowmaster exhaust, 4:56 gears. No motor or tranny. I'm hearing I'm gonna have some wiring troubles putting this into the 93. Will the 89 motor/harness/computer work on the 93? What problems might I run into? Fyi......I'm 14 years old builing this to be my first car.....so please be patient with me, my knowledge is not there yet. I appreciate any and all responses!

The EFI harness is the same. If you start swapping steering columns you'll run into issues.

Keep the 93 harness and drop the motor in.

Should I use the computer from my 89? The computer in the car is from an Automatic and mine is a manual. Originally the 93 had a manual but the guy switched to the auto for drag racing. So should I (can I) use the 89 computer or get a computer from a 93 to use in the car? Thanks!

I believe that you can use the auto comp with a manual

Yes you can use the auto comp in a manual car. The motor and trans will drop right in the car just fine and you can use the EFI harness. There are a couple plugs to watch for though....there is one in the kick panel and the 2 by the brake booster....

What I would do if I were you to make it easy is put the whole harness (body and motor) from the 89 into the 93 and swap over steering column and instrument cluster. You can not use the 89 cluster with the 93 harness just a FYI. It will plug in but some of the wires are in different locations. This will give you time to get to know your car and where everything is. This might sound like alot of work but its really not. Also, with you being 14 I am assuming you are going to use this car as a DD? If so DO NOT run the 4.56 gears.....way too many RPM's for street use.

I figured I would put a new clutch in there while I have everything out. What would be a good clutch to go with? I don't want it to be very stiff......with it being my daily driver, I don't want leg cramps if I'm in stop and go traffic! Thanks!

I've had great success with Zoom clutches. They're not too popular amongst this crowd but I like them. Great grab, medium pedal.
