Default 24 lb injectors on stock 5.0?

Would putting 24 lb injectors on my stock 5.0 cause any type of issues I should be aware of? Is there anything else I should change with them?

Yes the car will not run right as the ECU isn't tuned for 24lb injectors. Stock 19s are good for most head/intake/basic cam setups. To run 24s you either need an MAF programmed for such (good option), Cobra ECU (better option), or your ecu tuned/tweeked on a dyno tune (best option)

...don't do it....

my rule of thumb for a NA setup....if you don't run aluminum heads you don't need them..

why does it matter if they are Al?

I upgraded mine when I did new heads/cam this summer. Then on the dyno it showed that the fuel pump was not keeping up with them. Until you get into the motor and start modding it the 19s are fine and there would be no perfomance gain with upgrading it until then.

I say aluminum because thats when people start getting into the power levels that need 24lb injectors. There are only a couple cheap aluminum heads that don't need them.... GT40's really don't need them unless they are heavily ported...iron Dart or windsor jr/sr heads I would use 24s with but very few run those.

ok I gotcha then. I though you were trying to say just the material dictated their use but this makes better sence.

300 always seemed high on the stockers to me. I could only imagine that at that point the inectors would be choking the motor but then I am not the motor expert.
