Okay, I took out the floor pan. I have an air chisel and a drill bit. I have a plug cutter but it's a piece of crap from lowes.

What are people using to remove plug welds, if I don't get one I have to drill with a bit.

Using the chisel I was taking off the top part of the torque box and I ripped the side wall piece that it is welded to.

So, now I wonder if I want to replace the whole torque box or not. I can't get a drill into the box so what do I do?

Anyone have a good link to the weld bit? Also, the rips that I did in a few places, how do I fix those???????

I used a combination of dremmel, angle grinder, drill, chisel and a step drill to get them all out. Its just a pain n the butt.

Here's one of the best. Make sure you use the punch first. Also you will go through a few bits on a car. I would buy some extra 5/16" bits. The rest you will be ok on.

Here is the one I use. Like it lot and have removed literally a thousand spot welds with it. You can buy new cutters and pliot if needed - Always start with drilling a pilot - not all the way thru but enough to keep cutter from moving around. Lets see some pics of the rips.

I can't go through replacing that part so I will have to patch it. have to find out what it is calld Kick panel?

Nope, I just looked at it and at that point, is part of the inside skin of the rocker (Still rocker at that point?)

I bought that Blair model seen in the Amazon link and although it worked I found the bits were very brittle. I bought 4 off of Harbor Freight and was surprised that they were a lot more durable.

All those hole-saw types are OK, but be prepared to go through a dozen or more cutters on a job. Anytime the cutter shifts or hits a snag, they lose teeth.

A solid drill style spot weld drill will do the job, and won't shed teeth.

What brand are they? I bought one from CJ's and I absolutely hated it. Even after drilling a pilot hole it would not cut.
