Default Stock 06 GT. Performance upgrades?

Hey guys I just purchased my first mustang. Black, 06, Gt, 30,000 miles. I want to upgrade the engine but I want to keep it all clean and classy. Any suggestions. Cai? Exhaust? Chip? Whats going to be the most reliable in the long run? Any foreseeable problems. All knowledge will help. Thanks!

For first mods, can't go wrong with CAI and tune.

Here's a good place to start, check out the "Tuner Combo Kits"...

There is a sticky with a list of mods but in order, I would do:

CAI/tune
Gears
headers/full exhaust
Cams
CMDPs
Underdtive pulleys
Intake manifold
Throttle body

That is, of course, if you plan on staying naturally aspirated. The order and number of mods would change if you wanted forced induction.

Chips are for eating. We retune our PCM's.

CAI and good custom tunes (check out American Muscle and Brenspeed websites) will net you 20-35 RWHP. Cams and LT headers will net about the same. After that, it's 3 RWHP here, 5 RWHP there. If you want MAJOR HP gains, then go FI. A stand-alone CAI is near-useless and may throw a code for running lean.

Any exhaust work after the OE H-pipe won't gain anything other than exhaust note.

Right or wrong i have heard and seen a few videos where the muffler delete picks up 3-5hp. Here's a vid of a 2010 camaro picking up 6..

I haven't used any other tuners so I can't compare but I like bama a lot. Extremely quick turn around too.

Steeda has a great CAI/Tune combo that will yield upto 38HP and 30ft lbs of torque.

http://www.steeda.com/store/steeda-2...ir-intake.html

Our tuners are some of the best in the business and that same goes with our tunes. You will not be disappointed in this combination. Very popular combo among Mustang owners.

PM for forum pricing and we can discuss what your budget is and your ultimate goal for your Mustang. The CAI is one of the best 1st mods to do in combination with an exhaust.

Best Regards,

TJ

And the Lord said, "Let there be Whipple."
And the people saw that it was good.
And there was much rejoicing.
