Default 2in black antenna

Tested this from a friend's car before I bought it, but it fits(most antenna's are all the same size). So much better than the long antenna that is stock on the 2012 Mustang. It's a Perrin shorty antenna. If you're interested, google shopping will find it. They have 2in, and 4in sizes available. There is a slight step where it screws on, but I plastidipped it, and it's sealed and good now.

Not a problem at all if you don't use the radio or, if you DO use it, your stations are local. Otherwise, you'll be hunting for new stations every 10-20 miles or so.

I would get this. I use satellite radio 99% of the time. The few times I use the FM radio (even with no antenna) i get the channels just fine. Right now I just have a black painted bolt in the antennas place. Didn't want an antenna at all (even a shorty) and I didn't like the way the open hole looked (Ghetto).

edit: interesting, marketed and sold as a mitsubishi evo antenna.... and not all antennas are the same. Some can be different in diameter and thread density. Most are the same these days.

I know what you mean about the open hole look. I leave my antenna off because I get tired of removing it to put the car cover on, plus I have Sirius Sat. and my local stations are strong. However I need something short to put over that hole. Anyone with some ideas?

the blow by racing shorty antenna is pretty short and has excellent reception still.

Does anyone know is a 2005 antenna will fit a '97? They only list the newer mustangs.

I cut a hole in my car cover for my shorty antenna. But then again, it sits in the garage sometimes for as much as 2-3 weeks and the cover is for dust prevention. I don't think my cover ever saw rain.
