Default 2012 GT - Best Jack Point

I have a 2 1/2 ton hydraulic floor jack the I want to use to rotate my tires-front to back.

I want to jack up one side so I can rotate each side front to back. If I put it mid-point of the car's side, where specifically do I jack it from so as not to bend or break anything???

I know the lift points are the pinch welds but I dont like jacking cars up there. I lift mine from the K-member and rear diff. Only problem is you need jack stands for this. If you had frame connectors they would be ideal for a one sided lift.

yeah. I'd get jack stands... well.. that's what I did. then jack it where Boss said, jack stands are cheap, and you should use them any time you jack up your car anyway for safety.

I get where you're coming from -- I like to jack the car up from the side when I'm changing tires too. But the concern about the pinch-weld is valid -- that's why I purchased a jacking insert just for this purpose.

There are others that make inserts as well (UPR comes to mind) but I liked the design of this one and the fact that it doesn't need to be welded to the side rail.

So does this just slip on when you need to use it? And do you put it in the center and jack up the entire side of the car?

I like that insert never used one. Looks like it just slips over the pinch weld. I have had my car up multiple times on the pinch welds no problem. Depending on the job however I have used other spots. What are you jacking it up for. That would help with placement.

Right there in the OP.

Should be able to just jack from the front jack point. Lift it far enough & the rear tire should lift. That has worked on many cars for me for years.
