Default Going from 6 bolt to 8 bolt clutch

Do you need a WHOLE new clutch to go from 6 bolt to 8 bolt? Say you had a McLeod RXT running on a 6060 and you later install a forged shortblock with an 8 bolt crank. Can I just make an exchange or do I need an entirely new clutch??

No. you don't need a whole new clutch.
You may need new clutch disks depending on how much wear or if the flywheel is a different size.

What part would I buy to make the swap? Do I just go to the vendor and ask for the 'upgrade'?

you might not need anything, depending on wear. But just call mcleod and ask.

In my case, I installed the 25 spline rxt clutch along with a mcleod 6-bolt aluminum flywheel when I upgraded to the t56 magnum xl transmission 13 months ago. I just swapped to a forged block and went with a mcleod 8-bolt steel flywheel, and did nothing with the rest of the clutch.
