Default Door Rattle Fix

Hey Guys,

A little while ago I asked about fixing a door rattle in my car. It lead to some confusion but after a lot of reading on the forum I ventured out to create this quick fix for one of your door rattles.

All you need is some velcro squares.

This is your door and that plate behind the handle grip will vibrate all the time.Name: IMAG0224_zpscca53a50.jpg

There are two clips on the back of this plate "holding" the plate in place. Located at the corners. Just give it a little pressure on the ends and you should see the plate start to pull out. Don't be afraid to pull on it and squeeze your finger behind the plate to get it to come out. If you are worried about breaking the tabs, watch the video of me doing it.

Once it is off, you will see the clips and the holes were it all lines up.

Take a set of the velcro squares and place them on the flat surface.

Now take the other set and using your nails to make as little contact with the sticky side as possible, attached them to the ones you just stuck on the door.

Reapply the plate and be sure to put it on centered and give it a few good pushes where you placed the velcro squares. You should hear them come to get a little more if you didn't go all out pushing them together in the step above.

Your done. That plate won't move again. If you want to remove the plate later on, just repeat the first step. Its just a little tougher this time. One set should be stuck to the plate now.

Its really easy to do, you all should have no issues. That is only, if you didn't buy it used and the previous owner did an extremely bad attempt to fix it using liquid cement.

I'm going to try this today, only my passenger door rattles and it really bothers me for some reason. I hope this is whats rattling and not something else.

My door rattle was the little panel behind the door opener.
Same type of deal.

I popped both little panels out and drove home with them on the floorboard, but the rattling continued. Any idea what it is or how to open up the door paneling to check? I have a feeling it's the speaker mount that is loose or something. Where I have very bad hearing, I have to listen to things louder, so the vibration might have loosened it or something. It's only rattling on the passenger side.

nice post. this will solve many rattles sir.

I have taken apart my whole mustang, and the doors on our cars were definitely the most poorly designed areas of the vehicle. the way they come together is rubbish, from the way they drain water to the alignment of the spokes that hold the plastic panel in.
