Advice needed on 67 Mustang
#123
Hello all,
Started this thread/project a loooooong time ago. Financial and some personal issues took importance from the task, but I'm back around. I'll drop statuses as things happen. I'm running the wiring now for the taillights. Once that's done I'll post some links for advice, comments and thoughts. Talk to you all soon.

So I am trying to plan out the exhaust on my project. Recap is, I have a 67 coupe with a 351w crate engine and AOD from an 89 Mustang. So with that said, I got a set of headers that are going to a 1 5/8" opening I believe. Although I'm not sure if I should go dual or single exhaust.

Here's these minus headers:

More of a factory option:

So with a nice pair of headers and that flowmaster exhaust, you'd be good to go. I'd think you could get nice headers for $400-600 or so. Total you should come in under $1000 I'd assume.

I'm not making this up - somebody I know (not on the forum) didn't believe me, hooked up the C4 kickdown link instead, and burned up his AOD in under 200 miles.

This is exactly what Im doing at the moment. The 67 engine bay can fit a 390, so the 351 is a good fit and Lost of power and a perfect match for that AOD. Or just buy a FRPP or Edelbrock drop in Crate engine and an AOD.
oops brought this back from the dead.
