This is an image off the net, not my car but i need to know what is this vacume line for? (the one on the right that curves down under the main harness and into the firewall. thanks
I think that's the vacume line that runs your heating/cooling switches. The ductwork under the dash has vacume operated doors/panels for defrost, heat, vent etc.
ahhh. I do not have this 3 way anymore on my car. No wonder only defrost mode works lol! can i hook just that one line into my main vac tree? I dont think it would get too much vac then would it?
I may be wrong but the round piece ther in the pic is a damper of sorts to control the speed at which the vacuum is applied so the doors don't smack open and closed..

i found a diagram that says that is a check valve. Im not sure of its purpose. I dont see air flowing the wrong way?

its for when the vaccuum dumps when you open the throttle it doesnt dump all the vacuum in the lines otherwise the vents would be constantly switching from the dash to defrost everytime you left a traffic light
