Torn about mod order
Hey-o! I've had my GT for roughly 7 months now and all I have done is toss on a pair of GT500 axle-backs my friend had laying around (not really doing it for me, thinking about Pype Bombs now). I've recently been thinking about a CAI/Tune but due to money restrictions (we all know how it is) I was thinking of going with just a 93 Bama performance tune initially and getting my CAI later on. Question is, if I go with just the tune would I notice enough change to hold me over for a couple months? Also if I'm going with just the tune and not a CAI with it am I potentially running the risk of running real rich? Or would Bama have me covered on that with the tune they give me?
Thanks for any advice/input.
PS: I come from the Volkswagen world and am more used to the German car annoyance of every small change being problematic in the ECU's eyes. Gradually getting used to the great American Muscle world.

I am pretty sure that you can get just a custom tune for your stock intake. Remember that it is the tune that is 85% of the power adder. The rest come from the CAI ability to maximize air flow to allow the tune to be fully utilized. A CAI should really be labeled a velocity stack.

We can definitely write you a tune for your Stock intake, you'll notice large gains in a few different departments! Power, torque, acceleration, drive ability, gas mileage, throttle response and so much more.

So this is entirely my opinion but stay away from Pypes. They are cheap for a reason they are made cheap and are just godly loud but have no nice tone to them. Sound like a kid yelling though some metal fencing tubes.
If I was doing axle back which is what I was going to do before I decided to just take the plunge and go cat back. I was going to go with the SLP Loudmouths they are made a lot better and sound really nice.
But if you do end up going Cat Back look into Stainless Works Retro Chamber Exhaust. It puts out the sound of pure muscle car sex.

It's actually not too bad in price, I saw it on their site for $600. Photo's show cat back but description said axle-back, confused me so I emailed them about it and they told me it's a cat back system. So I might end up going with that now. Just hope it's as loud and aggressive sounding as I'd want.
