Default Got me a GoPro 3 Black Edition, and decided to make my own in-car mount

Got me a Gopro last week, and was wanting some sort of in-car mount to use. I checked online, and although nice.. the available CNC machined aluminum piece was $150.00. I just can't see that price, so I took a trip to Home Depot, and approx. $20.00 later, I have a working in car mount.

I got the GoPro tripod adaptor, which was $7.99,

Aluminum square tube - 36" x 3/4" x 1/16" - $11.47
4 pack of 1/4" wingnuts(they didn't have singles) - $1.18
1 - 1/4"x20 2 1/2" long Hex Bolt - $0.20
2 - 1/4" Hex nuts - $0.12
3 - 1/4" washers - $0.33
2 - 1/4" lockwashers - $0.30

Total parts - $21.59...+tax blah blah blah

I still have to paint everything black.. but am considering taking it to work and running it through our Ecoat system.

So, after some measuring, drilling, bolting and setting up, this is the almost finished product.

I used a wingnut to tighten up on the tripos mount on the bolt. I have full adjustment up/down, and rotation.

I will post up some in car videos later this evening after I get them done.

here are a couple of videos I made with it today just playing around...

Be sure to switch it to 1080p.. and i didn't have my camera screw tight enough on the first vid.. camera started tilting a little

And testing Wide angle field of vision:

And another.... yeah, after viewing the vid, I should have waiting to nail the throttle with oncoming cars.... I slap my own wrist for that.
