Default Cougar RX7 4.6 L

Hey ya'll , sorry I haven't been on in a while , been swamped , with the work load , and a boat load of mud bogging too , got the Ranger running like a champ and have been out abusing it!! LOL
but I do have a question ,,,, I'm not sure of the exact year but will get a V.I.N number tomorrow , off a mid 90's Cougar RX7 , with a 4.6 L ,,, should this engine be the same one as the one in my 97 GT ??? it sure looks the same except for the aluminum intake ???
Let me Know if it is worth me dragging this thing home ????
For the record , this car has been abandoned on my trap line and the RC's said giv'er , take it home !!

I think that will be the same engine that came in the Lincoln town car. Single OHC 4.6 rated at 205HP.

You can make that into a unique car, not too many cougars (shut it) out on the streets these days.

The car is total write off , but was thinking of dragging it home and jerking the motor out , tearing it down and rebuilding , if it will work for me in my GT???

Gonna have a look at the rear diff too , don't know if it has a 8.8 or not , but if so I'll take it too . It would be good if it did with the L/S !!

That car has IRS. I'm not sure anything from the rear will swap over.

A slightly larger project.....you must swap the rear end now. The forum demands it.

Once I jerk the motor out , I'll flip it over and check it out .

yea, same 8.8 with L/S. same setup as cobra with IRS. not sure about the length of the housing for the T-bird/Cougar being the same as the mustang .ford use this IRS setup on the t-bird/cougar before putting it on the cobra.looks like you got a real good deal.
