Default Got 20x8.5 Front 20x10 Rear Wheels. Now What Tires???

Hello I am a newbie to the forum! I just got some black 20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear fr500 black wheels for my 2014 black stang. I don't know much about tires. I was thinking 255/35R20 in front but am unsure about the rear. A kit comes with the 285/30r20 in the back but I may want more sidewall that that. will 275/35r20 look too narrow on a 10 in rim? I also want to add lowering springs that will get rid of wheel gap in the future. Any help is appreciated!

Why not 285/35-20's?

I agree with Norm that 285/35/20 would be the best size choice for that wheel size

Toyo r888s are offered in this size and would have good grip but kind of soft for a daily driver

Pilot supersports are also offered in this size and possibly the best street tire

Neither would work well in the winter though, since you are in tennesse maybe you will have a second set of rims with winter tires on? or a winter beater car.

Hankook Ventus RS-3 is also available in 285/35-20 and 255/40-20 (a closer diameter match, BTW).

The 'Kooks are softer and slightly grippier than the Michelin PSS from what I hear, but no better in the winter and probably wears out a bit faster. Available in 200 treadwear, but also in 140 so you may have to be a little careful. I don't think there's really any difference because the tire mfrs in this segment may have been playing games under-rating the treadwear in order to bolster sales to autocrossers and track rats.
